About project

RingFront AI is a virtual call assistant built for contractors, and it is running about fifteen minutes after sign-up. It answers every call, day or night, books the job straight onto the calendar, and leaves the caller’s name, number and the job itself waiting once the call ends. There is no voicemail to work through afterwards. The product is deliberately small to operate, with five screens, no configuration files and no dashboard to learn, and it is priced per call rather than on a monthly minimum.

The challenge

For a contractor, a missed call is not a missed message, it is a job that goes to whoever picks up next. The calls that matter often arrive at the most awkward times: the one that comes in at 6:47pm while the team is still on site, or the one at 2am that nobody is awake for. Hiring a receptionist to cover those hours is not economic for most small contracting businesses, and an answering machine simply moves the work to the next morning, by which point the customer has usually called somebody else.

The solution

RingFront answers in the business’s own voice rather than as a generic call centre, and it answers differently at 2pm than it does at 2am. The owner decides what it is allowed to say and what it must not. Availability is read directly from the business’s Google Calendar and the booking is written back to it, so the job is confirmed while the caller is still on the phone instead of being queued for someone to action later. At the end of the call the name, the number and the job are summarised and sent on.

Features of RingFront AI

Answers day or night

Every call is picked up, including outside working hours and while the team is on a job.

Sounds like the business

The assistant answers in the business’s own voice rather than as an anonymous call centre.

Different answers by time of day

How a call is handled at 2pm and at 2am is not the same, and the assistant reflects that.

Owner-defined boundaries

The business decides what the assistant can and cannot say.

Books while the caller is on the phone

Availability is read from Google Calendar and the booking written straight back to it.

Call summary after every call

The caller’s name, number and job are waiting once the call ends, with no voicemail to replay.
